For Newbs: What is #DAO? What is this "Indulgence" thing about?

DAO stands for #DAOrgy (deviantArt Orgy).
DAOrgy is a chatroom on dA's messaging network (dAmn). While the word "orgy" is often associated with sex, DAOrgy is not a sex chat, though the subject is not exactly taboo in DAO. In that regard, people of all sexual orientations are present and welcome in DAO. There is no set chat topic, it's merely a place for fellow artists to have a few laughs and a good time.

DAOrgy was one of the most popular chatrooms in dAmn in Fall 2004 - Winter 2005. The reason for the downfall of DAO is a mystery, but we are hoping to make a cumback with this "Indulgence" party and make it bigger and better than ever.


When and Where?


DAO Indulgence will be on:

Saturday, May 10th, 2008 at 9:00PM EST

in #DAOrgy

(though everybody is welcome to show up early or late)

What can I do to help make this event a success?
What we need from you is help promoting this event.

So far, we have about 10 interested deviants, but clearly 10 isn't enough for a real party. Nor will it get us anywhere close to meeting our goal of making #DAOrgy the most popular chatroom in dAmn on the night of the reunion.

Here are some ways to start promoting the event:
- Tell fellow deviants about the event, whether or not they use dAmn.
+ Write a journal about your experiences with #DAOrgy, and then mention that we're having a cumback and that everybody is welcome.
- Post a link to #DAOrgy, a link to this journal and/or the icon for this account in your journal entries, signatures or whatever else you chose in order to get the word out.
+ Come into DAOrgy before the event to discuss what will make this event a successful one (be sure to report any new ideas for promotion or otherwise in a message or comment to this account)
- If allowed, promote this event in other dAmn rooms. (especially if you admin them)

Depending on how many members, guests and former DAOStaff members attend this event, we may need more DAOStaff for this event. If you're interested in possibly being promoted to moderator during this event, please leave a comment or note to let us know that you're interested.
